Pranassage ™
is an integrative approach to Yoga and body-work that awakens a greater
awareness of the body's alignment and movement in space. It brings the
body and mind into a deep state of relaxation, which is the optimal
state for learning new and improved patterns of movement. The
practitioner moves the body through a flow of postures and stretches
applying pressure in line with the force of gravity. Allowing the body
to be moved, without exerting any effort, brings the body and mind
together, changes negative movement patterns, opens the flow of energy
throughout the body and stimulates circulation and nourishment of the
muscles and bones. The primary goal of the session is to provide the
body with relaxation. Studies have shown that simply relaxing relieves
stress and mental tension, thereby strengthening the immune system.
Relaxation stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, the ‘rest and
digest' system, which in turn nourishes all of the body's mechanisms,
including those of the cardiovascular and digestive systems.
